HO CHIUSO CON TE – I’M DONE WITH YOU

HO CHIUSO CON TE – I’M DONE WITH YOU

Ho chiuso con te, Guida Editori is the book for which I would like to thank Manuale di Mari  and the author: Emanuela Esposito Amato.

Ho chiuso con te is a sentence that immediately leads us to think of something peremptory, of an unhappy and angry epilogue, yet the book opens up many reflections.

The first ‘reflection’ is literally a mirror image: the book’s protagonists are twins bound by a promise.

Two sisters, one thing.

One thing just like the two opposing sides of the same soul: good and evil, Yin and Yang, Motown and Metal.

Do you also have an inside-out juxtaposition?

Escher comes to mind.

We are wrong when we believe we are in truth and vice versa.
Thomas Bernhard

On the subject of what is true, the author, before telling the story, quotes a sentence by Oscar Wilde:

Is it really so? Do you feel yourself always and everywhere?

Is there a person in the world who really knows you to the core?

Emanuela Esposito Amato who is currently participating in The international book fair in Turin, dedicated the book to his brother.

His dedication immediately put me on his wavelength because I also think that ‘my’ brother is a BIG brother.

Do you have brothers or sisters? What kind of bond do you have, if you don’t mind me asking?

Very often there are stories of brotherly misunderstandings, quarrels, break-ups … of ‘I’m done with you.’

But will this really be the focus of the book?

I leave it to the reader to find out.

TRIBUTE TO CARLY SIMON

TRIBUTE TO CARLY SIMON

The 37th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held Nov. 5 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation for the Performers category honored:

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo

Duran Duran

Eminem

Eurythmics <3

Dolly Parton

Lionel Richie

Carly Simon

However, Carly Simon did not participate because she was tried by the loss of her two older sisters within a day of each other.

We all know well how fate can be mocking, and how life gives and takes away, abruptly and arbitrarily.

Joanna Simon passed away on October 19, Lucy Simon on the 20th, both due to cancer.

During the ceremony, it was therefore Olivia Rodrigo who sang You’re so vain.

Not without trailing controversy from Alanis Morissette who forfeited.

What do you think about?

Still, there are many interpretations of what is among the most famous songs of all time.

I also like Kate Hudson, after all, it could only be so since I admire both of her parents.

What about David?

Also here on the blog you will find a dedication: “I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee

It should definitely be remembered, however, that Carly is also much much more.

For example, it is impossible not to find her Let the river run in loop in your head each time you watch the movie Working Girl.

Or it is impossible not to sing Coming around again from Heartburn with Meryl

Do you want to add something?

READ ME WRITE ME

READ ME WRITE ME

Today for the Advent calendar it’s already party! And it’s a Christmas party very much original created by the blog Read me Write me.

Sara, the author of the blog, ironically speaking of herself, writes I grew up with payphone telephone boxes… whoever is my age understands what I mean.
And how if I understand you Sara! And I take this memories moment to rethink with nostalgia the times when letters were sent  for real, handwritten, with stamps …

Sara then caught my attention by telling how she discovered her dyslexia on her own.

Very often in fact it happened to me, comparing myself with someone who had more or less the same age as mine, to consider how once there was no kind of attention on the matter.

So many compliments to Sara for how she solved it, but above all for how she then faced and told her experience so much that she wrote a book

Among other things, it is impossible not to be impressed by the drawings on the cover and on the blog, and the great thing is that they are from her sister! As I had already written for Elena and Laura I love these forms of artistic sharing and sisterhood very much.

In Sara’s story, on the other hand, you will find another type of family relationship:

“Hi Margareth, I hope I don’t disturb you,” Mark said rhetorically as he closed the door of the small studio behind him. He took two steps forward with a little hesitation, due to the lack of lighting, but also and perhaps above all, for fear of what he had decided to do go on here
