Libri e Caffè: an unexpected and pleasant discovery.

And it was chance that led us to Libri e Caffè – Books and Coffee, Bookshop and Café in Pavia.

With a free morning, more by design than by chance, my husband and I are walking around Pavia with no particular destination in mind, just wanting to spend a few peaceful hours.

We turn at every corner in the direction that most intrigues us, chasing small traces of beauty.

“Shall we go back?”
“Let’s go there.“
And there we find a lady sitting at a table in a café with knitting needles in her hands.

We look up and see the sign: Books and Coffee!

What can I say? Fate.

Inside, the atmosphere is welcoming and cosy.

In the background is a beautiful wooden bookcase with a selection of books for sale.

In the back room, there is a bookcrossing  corner.

Books and sweets are on display, and good coffee is served at the counter.

A perfect place.

Magic, but above all thanks to Nicoletta: a bookseller since forever, she chose to live in Pavia after grasping its essence.

Nicoletta has put her long experience to good use and has distinguished herself by offering a characteristic and comfortable space in which to read.

And where to choose what to read, where to bring books to exchange for others, where to participate in presentations and reading groups, and where to drink coffee!
