ITALY SLOW TOUR

ITALY SLOW TOUR

Italy Slow Tour is a website, Italy Slow Tour is a YouTube channel, Italy Slow Tour is much more.

How can you encapsulate two people like Syusy Blady and Patrizio Roversi in a single description?

Syusy describes herself as an eclectic artist, journalist, actress, TV presenter and whatever else pops into her head.

Let’s say that a lot of interesting things have popped into that mind so far.

Patrizio‘s bio is a narcissistic double-edged carping exhibitionist complex.

So it seems quite natural how Patrizio could have been thunderstruck by Maurizia while literally ruling a group of kids on the beach in that Stop Model splendour that we would all later discover.

The union of two diametrically opposed yet inextricably complementary personalities.

Together they gave us programmes like Lone Wolf or The Arab Phoenix that made history, and became The Travellers par excellence.

Tourists by chance.

Before Beijing Express, before the Travel Bloggers, before the Digital Nomads, Patrizio and Syusy taught us the true spirit of Travel

Thanks to them, we saw distant and unseen places, discovered real life, observed food, learned customs and traditions.

Experiences based on two unfailing ingredients: respect and irony

Syusy and Patrizio’s irony is something I have always loved, which is why I recommend you follow their Syusy and Patrizio News

A condensation of useful and interesting information told with their way of being themselves: Tourists by chance but Artists by merit.

CAFFEINATED ZOMBIE

CAFFEINATED ZOMBIE

Caffeinated zombie in particular is impersonated … can we say ‘impersonated?’ Just kidding of course!

I mean, reading the title you must have immediately thought of Jim Jarmusch’s film The Dead Don’t Die, do you know it?

If you don’t know it, ‘this is going to end badly’ …

I don’t know about you, but we really like to quote some iconic lines from this film.

But back to our caffeinated zombie aka the Iguana of rock: Iggy Pop

Born James Newell Osterberg Jr., you can really say anything about him.

Even that he roams Centerville with his inseparable pot of coffee.

Caffeinated zombie

Over all I like to recall his friendship with David Bowie.

“He resurrected me” were his exact words in an interview with the New York Times

Together they went to and from Berlin and together they gave us that little gem that is China Girl, not to mention the legendary The Passenger.

Together is the adverb that can also be used when referring to Jim Jarmusch because the interpretation of a zombie is one of the many occasions in which he and Iggy also collaborated.

Staying on the subject of zombies for now, what do you think?

Do you like films and series with their range of versions from the most macabre to the most ironic?

The word zombie has its roots in the West Indies, roots intertwined with woodoo rituals, but why am I telling you about it at the start of this year?

To quote The Simpsons: ‘zombies prefer to be called disadvantaged living.’

That’s it: let us rise from slumber and worry less about definitions.

Let us live, let us feed on beauty and not on our fellow man, let us distinguish, let us change.

Otherwise, as Adam Driver repeats: this is going to end badly.

And of course I would also like to toast, like the old Mallory: Chardonnay!

MY BAR, FAMILY, HEALTH

MY BAR, FAMILY, HEALTH

My bar, family, health … this is the recipe that Anna Possi gives us as an example of a centenarian.

Yes: tireless Anna in front of the espresso machine at the Bar Centrale in Nebbiuno on the occasion of her 100th birthday declared:

I don’t want anything, I already have everything. My bar, my family, my health, my brain is fine… What counts is being among people, loneliness hurts.

What can I say! First of all, many many good wishes also from Keep Calm & Drink Coffee and then sincere congratulations for the message that is certainly worth sharing.

Being among people

Do you agree with Anna?

Do you also think that being among people is what counts?

Or do you love solitude

My bar.

Can loving your job, or being able to turn your passion into a business, really be the essential component?

Health.

One more secret to longevity for Anna is to eat little.

I think I can say that we all agree, on the theory, of course on the practice … do you know how to moderate your meals

Between ‘my bar’ and ‘health’: family.

Il mio bar, la famiglia, la salute

Family:  a word that in a broad sense encompasses a universe, so varied and multifaceted that it cannot fit into a specific description.

It is no coincidence that countless quotations are striking in this regard:

I do think that families are the most beautiful things in all the world!
Louisa May Alcott

A happy family is, but an earlier heaven.
George Bernard Shaw

The family will last as long as man. It is the cradle of humanity.
Giuseppe Mazzini

Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life.
Albert Einstein

In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.
Friedrich Nietzsche

And in your opinion?

WINONA FOREVER

WINONA FOREVER

Choosing a name for a newborn child is never a trivial matter, and certainly Mr and Mrs Horowitz decided on a name for their daughter that is striking.

Winona.

One would be inclined to quote Donnie Darko: “What the hell kind of name is that? It’s like some sort of superhero or something.”

Winona is the place of birth, but more importantly Winona is a female name of Native American origin meaning ‘first-born daughter’ in the Dakota and Sioux languages.

The surname Ryder, on the other hand, is a tribute to Mitch Ryder

We could also consider a married surname: Reeves.

Since the 1990s, in fact, she affectionately calls Keanu ‘husband’ because unbeknownst to them, the person who celebrated their wedding in Bram Stoker’s film Dracula was not an actor but a real priest.

Francis Ford Coppola, but also Martin Scorsese and The Age of Innocence that earned her a Golden Globe, or Tim Burton with Edward Scissorhands or Bettlejuice that closes the circle in a way.

The iconic scenes featuring Winona would be so many, do you want to name one?

Is there a particular film you prefer out of all the ones she has starred in?

Winona was also a testimonial in a Japanese  commercial advertising coffee laughing

Don’t you find If you wanna be happy in Mermaids extremely addictive?

Or irresistible My Sharona in Reality Bytes?

Winona forever then?

She is Jo March!

Winona forever

She is human after all, so human that she has also made mistakes.

Maybe it’s because of this that I fell in love with Joyce Byers and all her imperfection in Stranger Things

Winona forever

And you?

How do you feel about the name your parents gave you?

I HAVE SEEN HER

I HAVE SEEN HER

I saw her win it …

And “it” is the BB Global Force award presented by Billboard magazine during the BB Women in music ceremony.

Global Force as an award given in recognition of a woman in the music industry who has made a significant contribution to the business and who, through her work and continued success, inspires generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities in the field.

The Women in music event celebrates women at the forefront of all fields of music from composers and songwriters to educators and all other music professions.

I saw her …

She needs no introduction: Annalisa, @nali is Global Force.

I did not follow her debut, and the first time I heard of her was in the measure of “good but second best.”

Until during a play organised by the middle school my son attends, a pupil struck me by singing about a blue cat

I then went to research and discovered that the song was by Annalisa.

Annalisa who for all these years has continued undaunted to be “good, but in second place”.

And yet there is not a person who does not know her ‘I saw her …’.

Despite having my radio perpetually on the frequency of Virgin, a radio that only plays rock music, without really knowing how or why, I have found the refrain of Mon amour in my head.

And ‘I saw her…’ has officially become part of my way of speaking: when I find myself describing something mixed, tangled, entangled.

Physics graduate Annalisa Scarrone, Nali, teaches us how to chase dreams and show the world the Global Force.

Did you see her win?

I dedicate this photo to Tony: ultimate Katy Perry connoisseur.

CATS

CATS

A-mici in città is a focus on cats by Legambiente, which offered an opportunity to survey some data.

The aspect I would like to focus on is this: at the feline registry, the municipality with the highest number of cats per number of inhabitants is the town of Sant’Angelo in Lomellina: more than one cat for every two citizens.

We may say that in these parts cats do particularly well 🙂

In fact, Gravellona even boasts a cat mayor.

I can’t help but immediately think of the cats from the famous “junkyard somewhere in London” … did you guess yet?!

I’m talking about the legendary Jellicle Cats!

There is no need for me to add anything else, is there?

If anything, I should add gratitude to Andrew Lloyd Webber for giving us Cats: a joyously engaging musical, full of vitality, and magically kaleidoscopic.

Wonderful music, stunning costumes and makeup, enchanting choreography.

Source of inspiration: Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Elliot.

I still remember my amazement the first time: immediately enraptured by the thought of the three names:

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter.
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

How many names do you have?

Actually we humans have more names too, don’t we?

One of the nicknames I have always used is really the name of one of the characters in Cats.

My husband gave me the musical dvd back in the days when it was not so easy to get this kind of things, and he gave me even more: we saw Cats at the Arcimboldi! Sitting in our seats as the Jellicle Cats peeked out around us, I’m still heart-eyed 🙂

May I invite you to review a small excerpt together?

Now would you tell me about the cats living with you or near you?
