KEEP CALM AND … ROLLER SKATING!

KEEP CALM AND … ROLLER SKATING!

Keep calm and… roller skating!
Yes: this time the keep calm is on wheels!

And it’s not the rusty ones I’m missing, luckily for you.

But not even the wheels of the experiments that Eleonora and I recently, by a curious coincidence, we told each other in these comments

Keep Calm wheels are spectacular and belong to the Victoria Alba Asd skating quartet.

Victoria Alba is an association of about 100 members, ranging from 5-year-olds to adults who are passionate about skating. They train in Alba in the province of Cuneo and participate in events and competitions at the provincial, regional and national level.

I got to know Victoria Alba after participating in the Fisr regional championship in Novara where the Keep Calm girls got fifth place in the National Division Quartets category with an exhibition inspired by the film “The greatest showman” … just to stay on the musical theme.

Their names are Benedetta, Michela, Sara and Sophie and they are between 14 and 16 years old.

Obviously I could not contact them to ask how the choice of the name Keep Calm was born.

Here is their answer:
The choice of this name did not happen by chance, on the contrary, as we know the translation of this short construct is “stay calm.” We as a team have decided to make it personal, reminding us that we have all the skills to face our seasonal competitions head-on, without being overwhelmed by uncertainty or inner turmoil. Because after all we ourselves have decided to undertake this path which in a certain sense has helped us to mature and grow as people who are in control of themselves.

I would say that they have very clear ideas and that they deserve my sincere applause.

Come on girls! My cheering is all for you!

In case you want to follow the Keep Calm quartet, as well as the other athletes, you can find them both on the Facebook page and on the Instagram profile

Have you ever tried to skate?

I am sure you will tell me fantastic performances.

The roller skates with which I completely “grated” my forearm in second grade were more or less like the ones in this photo.

Don’t laugh too much though!

GENOA JEANS

GENOA JEANS

I would like to point out the event that will be held from today until September 6: Genoa Jeans, a multifaceted and ambitious project that inaugurates the street of jeans.

Such an initiative could only take place in Genoa, the city that gave the name and origin to the most widespread and universal garment of all.

Genes blue.

Since we don’t pay attention to De Nimes, right? And not to bring out the usual rivalry with cousins from beyond the Alps …

Curious to know what this “street of jeans” which is defined as the future Genoese Carnaby Street consists of, I found myself thinking about how jeans have changed from the first pair worn as a child to today.

So I tried to retrace the transformation of the models:
50s, Marylin, a myth

60s: B. B. embodies freedom

the symbolic image of the 70s is unquestionably represented by the flared jeans

that in the 80s tighten at the bottom and here there is not the slightest doubt: King Giorgio‘s high-waisted jeans.
But I, who couldn’t afford them, loved the curled balloon version or alternatively with the basque.

ups and then downs? In the 90s the must was wide and long up to trample them …

in the 2000s life was lowered … until it almost disappeared

2010s we go back but the centimeters recovered disappear in width: skinny version

And now? Would you go on with quoting?
How many pairs do you own? How often do you wear jeans? Do you find that they can be suitable for all occasions?

Does your job include the possibility of wearing a pair of jeans or do you have a dress code? I think, for example, of when they were banned by Bush for White House collaborators.

Can you find them totally personal? I ask this because I find it singular even just the fact that there is a debate reported by the New York Times  according to which base FBI investigation on the uniqueness of the denim fabric worn by suspected criminals, since each pair has a unique wear pattern impossible to replicate in a completely identical way.

By the way, this is where the 501 was presented to us in a stone washed version.

But too much water has passed under the bridge so today the trend is directed towards those who instead promote eco-friendely behaviors such as Howies, Monkee Genes or even Mud Jeans which rents them for a monthly leasing fee that can last 12 months after which jeans are yours.

What do you think about?

ATHFLOW

ATHFLOW

Athflow derives from the merger of ATHLEISURE and FLOW.

Athleisure in turn is a hybrid term composed of athletic, that is sports and leisure, that is free time, and indicates a style of clothing that is practical and suitable for sports but at the same time fashionable, therefore also adaptable to other less informal.

And what does the flow add now? The cozy style: comfortable, relaxed, seemingly disinterested.

The idea of decontextualizing garments, extracting them from standard use and even more the deconstruction dates back to the early 70s thanks to, by now you know: King Giorgio, ça va sans dire.

In this last year, however, smart working has created a new need: to adapt the home outfit to a more formal connotation if necessary, in the case of conference calls, webinars, and so on.

Doing a search among the major trends, since I have a certain amount of springs, I had a déjà vu: already in the glorious 80s we used this genre. My memory was fixed in particular on a white jumpsuit with the red word United Workers of Americanino that I used a lot, very similar to the one worn by Chiara Ferragni here

In fact, almost all the stylists had presented knitwear in a rather universal way, precisely on the wave of the concept of comfort.

And again I find myself thinking of the maxi pullovers that reigned in the early 80s … for example, this Salvatore Ferragamo dress evokes them in full.

The novelty I like is the knitted trousers, here I would say that between comfort and warmth we are at the top.
Guess? I chose a random color …

What do you think of this contamination?
Has your way of dressing changed?

In general what is your favorite outfit?
