EVERYBODY SCREAM

Everybody scream is the album by Florence + The Machine released on 31 October.

With this album, we continue our exploration of the intertwining of music and Halloween. 

We talked about Muse’s You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween and Duran Duran’s Danse Macabre.

What do you think it represents?

Undoubtedly, all their work is full of symbols, some of them quite powerful, a bit like the video that starts with Nature and a wonderful place, which in some ways reminded me of The Witches Seed. 

Witches but not only.

Suffering, excess, baroque pop, horror, roots, folk, red, visceral dance, screams, chorality, soul, poison, transformation, symbiosis, interiority.

The song ends like this:
The witchcraft, the medicine, the spells, and the injections
The harvest, the needle, protect me from evil
The magic and the misery, madness and the mystery

Magic and misery.

I read it as a contrast, as if magic were wealth.

Madness and mystery.

If we want to consider them as opposites, can reason therefore be mystery?

Everybody scream … is everybody screaming?
