WIKIPEDIA When the Internet is a matter of life and death.

The Power of Knowledge kills the Knowledge of Power.

A sentence, a play on words, the key to a dream.

Aaron Swarzt’s dream, the dream of those who believe in freedom.

Pietro Ratto in his book Wikipedia When the Internet is a matter of life and death meticulously reconstructs the birth, history and evolution of the online encyclopaedia we all know.

Wikipedia content is added by voluntary users who contribute information that is shared as creative commons.

The idea was born from a dream, and is fuelled by a strong need for freedom.

Wikipedia’s aim is to spread knowledge and make it available to everyone, free of charge and universally.

The Power of Knowledge.

Can the Power of Knowledge really kill the Knowledge of Power?

Power is influence, power is domination.

How far can a dream be magnified?

Pietro Ratto’s valuable investigation reports on all the stages and, above all, all the stories of those who have been dreamers, those who have been creators and those who have been powerful …

The bibliography, or rather the sitography is extensive and very detailed.

In addition, every single link published in the book is available for consultation from the site of Pietro Ratto BoscoCeduo

I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to hear Aaron Swartz’s story, which should be shared out of a sense of justice but also of freedom

Here is a video from 2007 in which Aaron talks about network communication.

BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD

BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD

Before the coffee gets cold is the first of Toshikazu Kawaguchi川口俊和 trilogy best sellers, we had already talked about it here

While reading it, I also found a nice description about the now famous siphon coffee

The author describes a depression coffee pot, however I don’t really like the word “depression” combined with the coffee pot, which instead represents a small happy moment.

In any case, the ritual is told like this:

Nagare poured hot water into a lower cruet, then brought it to a boil to allow it to rise through the siphon into the upper cruet, where he poured ground coffee, which was then filtered back into the lower cruet.

Coffee plays a very important role in the stories told in Before the coffee gets cold, stories touching deep inside.

If you had the chance to say something that you should have told or would have wanted to say, in a moment that has already fled away, however, what would it be?

I know, it’s getting very personal here, because these thoughts are generally dedicated to the affections.

Feel free to share whatever you want.

In the meantime, I would also propose a fantasy variant, somewhat keep calm style …

Such as pointing out to Michael Stipe that R.E.M.’s decision “to stop being a band” caused a loss for the music.

Or, still about Japan, asking Sofia Coppola if she foresaw how much Lost in Translation fans would not let the whispering “come between” them and the curiosity of discovering Bill Murray’s words in Scarlett Johansson‘s ear.

Or just thank Meryl Streep now and always for showing the world that true Beauty has no canons, and that producing King Kong should have presupposed knowledge of the important underlying message about who the real monsters are.

All this only ever before the coffee gets cold

I must acknowledge the undoubtedly brilliant idea of the author, who among other things made an unusual choice for the context: in the book itself he tells us that

coffee arrived in Japan in the Edo period, towards the end of the 17th century. At first it did not satisfy Japanese taste buds, and it was certainly not considered a pleasant drink, but then again it was not surprising since it tasted like black, bitter water

Fortunately, things have since changed 🙂

What about you, did you love coffee right away or did you experience an evolution?

MICAM 90 #StrongerTogether

MICAM 90 #StrongerTogether

The 90th edition of the MICAM exhibition closes today  which had MICAM in Wonderland as its theme with a great MICAM Digital Show in collaboration with the NuORDER platform, not only for e-commerce but also for after-sales services and above all communication.

After the debut in February, the MICAM X area  focuses meetings and workshops on four points: Art Fashion Heritage & Future, Retail of the future, Trends and materials, Sustainability.

But above all it should be noted the magic of #MicamTales which ranges from the Tea Tasting with set-up and White Rabbit to the IKIDS square: a fairytale setting in which there is also the most large shoe made in Italy with Lego bricks.

Special mention for #MicamDolls: an evolution of the collaboration with Humana which since 2017 has collected 21,500 pairs of unsold shoes with the initiative A hand with the feet and which this year has introduced the Wonder Dolls whose proceeds will go to the education of children in Malawi.

These dolls are inspired by Alice in Wonderland characters and are created with recycled yarns by the artist Allison Hoffmann who crochets them.

A special space has been dedicated to new designers,  MICAM is in fact a very important showcase that offers previews of what will be new trends to come.

Slippers stand out more among the novelties for the summer.
Very colorful and available in various versions from extra light to tank, padded, and decorated with stones or fur.
Here you can convince me because my retrograde vision takes over …

Seriously, one thing is sure: the right praise must be given to those who do not give up and do their utmost to restart with courage, inventiveness, spirit of adaptation and ability to evolve #StrongerTogether.

KING GIORGIO ARMANI ALSO WINS THE AUCTION IN MILAN

KING GIORGIO ARMANI ALSO WINS THE AUCTION IN MILAN

Milan can be described in so many ways, and each of them may seem outdated in short time as it is constantly evolving. Always in turmoil, the undisputed capital of fashion manages to express a sense of vitality and renewal even to the less caring. Among the innovations introduced, the auction launched for a prestigious space in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, was undoubtedly successful. Giorgio Armani Retail brand won after 24 bids of fifty thousand euros each, with three-minute lapses. The auction was held at 670.440 euros and ended with an annuale fee of 1.9 million euros .Armani group will show and sell his creations in  these 302 precious square meters for the next 18 years. The Administration declared that this income will bring benefits for the city and for the citizens, so this first auction for the spaces of the Galleria was a brand new success, while we are used to the victories of King Giorgio Armani so I take the opportunity to express my highest respect.
