WOMAD

WOMAD

Womad stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance, an international music and arts foundation known primarily for its festivals, held annually in multiple locations around the world.

You never know where interesting news may come from” is the concept I have learned throughout my years.

To confirm it I will tell you that the first time I found information about Womad I was reading with my son from his English school book.

We owe the idea of this music art and dance festival to Peter Gabriel

In 1982 the author of the immortal 7/4 song with that harmonic theme that brought everyone’s thoughts on that perfect green to the sky, together with a group of people started the first festival right in Somerset, in Shepton Mallet.

Later the project evolved into a mission: to create opportunities for cultural exchange and learning to bring the arts of different cultures to the widest possible audience by developing arts education and creative learning projects.

After all, Peter Gabriel’s spirit of contamination appeared to us loud and clear in the blending of tribal percussion and electro-synth sounds in Shock the monkey.

The resounding aspect of the Womad festival that is being held these days is that Carmen Consoli announced her participation with this picture.

The Singeress.

I would say she is perfect to represent the strength of roots and the richness of collaborations.

Carmen is the first Italian artist to perform at the world music festival.

July 27 / 30 – Charlton Park are the coordinates of Womad 2023.

While waiting, we can watch highlights from last year’s edition: the 40th.

KCDC on VOYAGE MINNESOTA MAGAZINE!

KCDC on VOYAGE MINNESOTA MAGAZINE!

I sincerely thank all the staff of Voyage Minnesota Magazine and especially Camila, for contacting me and for the space they gave me!

I went browsing in Minnesota to discover Egg coffee and this virtual journey allowed me to discover interesting things I did not know, but at the same time someone else discovered me.

Unbelievable stuff, I know.

Yet here I am, with new friends and another story to tell.

The story of a project that I liked right away.

The story of a project whose thoughts are key words, which are also my own:

We also think that artists rock.

This is kind of the concept of Minnesota Voyage Magazine:
We love small business, mom-n-pop and holes in the walls. We’re not snobs, but we don’t love most chains. We think independent entrepreneurs, freelancers and other risk-takers make our cities exciting places to live. We cherish the rebellious spirit, we don’t think just a handful of big companies should control all of our commerce, and we think smore with vegan marshmallows are better than regular marshmallows. We respect people and organizations that take the road less traveled. We root for the underdog and almost never say no to pizza.

After all, how can one say no to pizza?

If you’d like, after pizza, you can find me by clicking on this coffee

DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP MODEL

DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP MODEL

Dynamic leadership model is the book published by Santelli Editore that Milan Krajnc is currently presenting in Italy.

Dr. Milan kindly sent me a picture of his coffee in Milan for the column “journey from mug to mug.”

I thank him, with the best wishes for his book presentation tour.

Dynamic leadership model is a project to which he cares in a particular way, telling of how it basically involves future and humanity, according to the principle that man first takes care of his own goals.

The cornerstone is Nature.

Business and material goals must support personal goals, according to Dr. Milan’s model.

A truly optimal concept, especially in this black period on all fronts, not least work, don’t you think?

I have had the opportunity to hear the experiences of many people and honestly, despite all my cosmic pessimism, I would not have been able to imagine to what levels one falls, in terms of working conditions, in too many areas and in too many cases, unfortunately.

This is why I feel strong empathy, in particular with my classmates from the last course I attended: a heterogeneous yet complementary group, capable of cementing itself by turning into a truly beautiful friendship.

I hope you have no problems with your job, I hope you find it satisfying, I hope your merits are recognized and paid in a suitable manner.

I hope you can witness the satisfaction, the realization of dreams, the realization of your project, just like Milan with his Dynamic leadership model.

ANTI GASPILLAGE

ANTI GASPILLAGE

Regarding waste  in France has entered a law in force as part of the anti-waste and reuse plan.

More precisely: Loi Agec or Loi Anti Gaspillage et Economie Circulaire.

After the significant step in the matter of Copyright against Google, our cousins from beyond the Alps have a further primacy: prohibit the disposal, or the landfilling and incineration, of unsold non-fueling items.

According to an estimate, textile products are destroyed every year in France in an amount equivalent to the weight of the Eiffel Tower.

From January 1st, however, companies will have to donate or recycle their unsold products.

The provision currently affects products covered by the EPR regime, i.e. with producer responsibility, and will be extended to all other products no later than December 2023.

But what are the EPR products?

It is an environmental policy that makes producers responsible for the entire life cycle of the products they place on the market, from their design to the end of their life cycle, including the collection and recycling of waste.

In reality this legislation also applies to Germany, why am I referring especially to France?

What do the fabrics I mentioned earlier make you think?

Exactly, a particular sector: fashion

We had already talked about Looop or jeans for rent, but what could be new solutions?

For example, the birth of platforms such as Heuritech which, using artificial intelligence advanced (AI) to translate real-world images shared on social media in meaningful insights, allows fashion brands to predict demand and trends more accurately.

Or ReValorem which instead takes care of disassembling the products to restore the materials where possible and counts Dior among its customers.

Or also Nona Source, created by LVMH, which uses the concept of Looop and through a startup like WeTurn offers exclusive patterns with new regenerated yarns.

Speaking of fabrics: I will never forget the Marché aux Tissus in Paris.
Have you ever been there?

KEEP CALM AND GO VOLUNTEERING

KEEP CALM AND GO VOLUNTEERING

Keep Calm and Go Volunteering!

In this case keep calm is not for the coffee but for an interesting as well as admirable volunteer project.

The general objective is to sensitize young people to the adoption of sustainable and responsible lifestyles, in contrast to the increasingly widespread “culture of waste” and disposable use.

The active promoters are four young people from different backgrounds: Edisona Xhani from Albania, Sophie Anvroin from France, Hamudi Salama Batah from Spain and Mehdi Meddeb from Tunisia who are involved in sharing information and promoting initiatives by working in the fabric of the community to combat food waste.

Keep calm and go volunteering therefore consists of a European Solidarity Corps that is funded by the National Youth Agency and promoted by the Europe Area of the Belluno Committee of Understanding.

In fact, on Sunday a flash mob took place in Belluno to involve more people with the aim of raising awareness the population.

And speaking of the fight against food waste, I suggest you follow Paola who through her book ll gusto di non sprecare, her blog Primo non sprecare for years has been diligently and deeply involved in the fight against waste.

It was nice to discover that many of us use coffee grounds, so I trust in just as many precious suggestions for food as well.

What do you think?
